Welcome to Countryside Large Animal Veterinary Service (CLAVS)! We are a full service, large animal veterinary practice located in Greeley, Colorado. We are here for you and your animals with on-call veterinarians and technicians 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our highly competent staff includes: three veterinarians, a board certified surgeon, several highly skilled veterinary technicians, and a welcoming office staff to make your experience with our clinic as efficient and professional as possible. Our clinic is a spacious, state-of-art-facility that can simultaneously accommodate numerous species in a safe and comfortable manner. Our procedural clinic is divided into two primary sections: equine and production livestock. The equine division consists of a surgery suite with padded induction and recovery stalls. A viewing room is available for owners of surgery patients if they wish to observe our team in action. After surgery, patients can be moved to one of our indoor intensive care unit stalls. Horses in this unit undergo intensive treatment for their condition and continuous monitoring (in person or via camera). This unit is also utilized for monitoring expectant mares. A separate standing surgery area allows the doctors to repair leg lacerations safely without the need for inhalant anesthesia. The equine division is also equipped with breeding stocks and an adjacent lab to accommodate a large variety of equine breeding services. A farrier room, imaging area, and lameness examination area enable our team of veterinarians to accurately diagnose and effectively treat equine athletes with lameness issues. Outdoor, covered stalls are available for outpatients and for less critical cases. The production livestock division includes facilities to handle cattle, hogs, sheep, goats, and camelids. Our veterinarians designed a processing facility for safety and ease of use. An unloading alley is available which ensures safe enclosure of the animal. We have a hydraulic chute for safe, solid, and quiet restraint of livestock. This hydraulic chute is portable and can be taken off-site for ranch use. This allows us to accommodate large herds without sacrificing efficiency or safety. CLAVS has a separate food animal surgery suite for procedures such as cesarean section and dystocia. A small ruminant area enables the staff to isolate and work on pigs, sheep and goats.
